| As a newbie, I'm curious. I understand cross pollination of vegetables only affects the seeds saved and not the vegetable harvested. So, I've heard that corn is the only vegetable affected by this cross in the first year because you are eating the seeds so the change is apparent. Are there any other vegetables that are affected by cross pollination in the first year?
Thanks, Wally |

| Maybe some rare or unusual one or two but none of the commonly grown vegetables. I suppose one could claim green beans IF they cross and IF are let go until the pod is swollen full of some cross-pollinated seeds that the taste 'might' be affected to a small degree but that's a lot of IF's and unusual. Or pumpkins by those who roast and eat the pumpkin seeds. But I can't think of anything else off hand besides corn where eating the seeds is the primary goal and even with corn most don't even notice the effects except for color. Dave |
