Everyday is usually too much water for any plant unless you happen to live in the desert. :) You don't indicate your location or even your garden zone so you may be a desert dweller.

Corn is only a moderate water user so yes, as a general guideline for much of the country once or twice a week is sufficient. Deep less frequent watering is always better than frequent shallow watering. Frequent shallow watering only encourages shallow rooting and water dependent plants.

Corn usually likes about an inch of water a week, If it doesn't call for rain during the week I water twice a week and about 1/2 inch at a time.

Inch a week. I flood the rows about once the week.

When you stop to realize that hundreds of thousands of acres of corn are grown annually using only rainfall and ground water to hydrate them then you get an accurate idea of the water needs of corn. An inch to 1 1/2" of water a week is adequate unless growing in an exceptionally hot and dry climate.

So once again - where do you live and garden?
