Bottom of cucumber plants looking a little rough?

The tops of my cuke plant seem to be very healthy and no damage. But the bottom seems to be being eaten by something? Maybe?
When the plant was much younger, we had a lot of rain and a bit of hail. Could this just be the leaves lasting impact from the weather? Or does it look like pest damage? I haven't seen anything besides ants near the bottom of the plant.
