"Red Globe" onion bunching?:

I left a last-year's "Red Globe" onion to overwinter in the ground intending to save seed this year when it regrew & bolted - which it has now done. But apart from the appearance of a tiny proto- seed head it is behaving more like a bunching onion, with the old bulb rotting & bursting to reveal several "bulblets", each with sturdily growing leaves - if that's what they're properly called.

So if I separate & plant these will they each produce a harvestable onion?
