Praying Mantis

When I was a kid in NY I was fascinated by Praying Mantis and they were pretty common.
When I started gardening in Virginia I noticed that I did not seem to have any.
Last year a whole bunch of baby Mantis appeared in my garden.
I just noticed the first one of this season-its about half grown. I love having them in my garden.

Lucky you. I bought ladybugs this year, but they all took off.

The mantids are good. So funny to look at. They turn their heads and look at you. I haven't seen any this year. Hope they are around.

I saw some a couple days ago and they must have just hatched as they were only a half inch long.
