Midsummer vegetables for container garden?

Metaphor_

Hi all,

Disclaimer: I have no idea what I'm doing! But I'm trying to learn.

I have two 114L self-watering containers and am growing vegetables on the balcony. I chose this method because I'm both new at gardening and lazy. So far it's going OK.

The peas are probably going to die soon (it's heating up to 26 degrees C). And I think the lettuce will probably bolt too with the new hot temperatures. Is there a summer crop I can put in to replace them? Ideally something that'll be really productive and likes being crowded :P I love seeing an abundance of plant, and no visible dirt.

I expect around 6h of afternoon sunlight per day. Located in Toronto. Appreciate any suggestions!
