I have several Kentucky Pole beans which I planted from seed. They came up and were dark vibrant green until they started mottling and yellowing. I have increased the water on some to test but it does not seem to make a difference. The plants are still producing but... Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Every year, I plant pole beans (Fortex). They come up looking beautiful, they grow to abundance. I get more green beans than I can deal with. However, at some point, the leaves start looking sun bleached, they get this rusty color and will eventually start looking like yours. It never harms production, so I just shrug it off. It's hard to tell how mature your plant is from the photo. Is this toward the beginning of your growing period or the end? Mine don't start yellowing and drying to that extent until they are nearly done producing. But when they do get toward the end of the season, that's what they look like.

As lori said - how old are the plants? They may just be finished as they don't live indefinitely. Otherwise the yellowing leaves indicates over-watering, not under-watering and the interveinal chlorosis (green veins surrounded by pale leaf tissue) usually indicates nutrient deficiency. Dave

Zone 10, I would think it is too hot right now for beans, There either done growing are getting sun burned.
