If those are pole beans you're going to need way more chicken wire. Mine grow over 8'. Trying to train them down and up won't work. As for flowers, they are still young yet. When they start getting bigger, they will start flowering.

They are indeed pole beans! I didn't know what I was in for I guess! Haha

Also, I'm not sure if you can tell by the picture but I may have planted too many seeds in one area, as they are in one big thick tangled mess! Should I slim them out or will they do this themselves naturally? (Survival of the fittest!)

Others may disagree, but I wouldn't bother thinning. I always plant in way higher concentrations than the packet instructions say and my beans always do fine. Do expand your chicken wire though. Higher and wider. When they get to the top, you can start training them to spread horizontally, but you don't want to do that at the 3' level where it looks like you are right now. There's way too much growing left for that.

Chickenwire is expensive. A loose string net hung from the fence would have been better. You can try bush bean varieties but they don't bare as much as pole beans. We usually plant in with the corn.

I will definitely do something whether it be chicken wire or something for them to cling onto! Wow who would've guessed they grew that high!

Are there many pests or bugs that eat/damage beans in south florida? As I may have mentioned, didn't have a very successful season for cucumbers or summer squash. :(
