Nope. BT is great stuff. Spinsoad is good stuff too, but it's a lot more expensive and it will harm bees, so spray at dusk if you use it.

But it's pretty much BT and a flyswatter for all my caterpillar problems all summer long. Every 2 weeks all season until the winter here for me.

Are you sure they are cabbage loopers? Only because those only eat from the brassica family as far as I know. Other possible culprits are armyworms, corn earworms, and young hornworms. Although the treatment is basically the same for all of those. I use Bt, omitting the flyswatter. :)

Agree that the odds they are actually cabbage loopers on tomato plants is slim. But dusting with Bt is effective on all eating caterpillars.

Here in Socal, it doesn't matter what I plant -- once it warms up some, it's looper haven. Of course, I'm sure it doesn't help that I grow brassicas into and through the summer.
