Is it too late to start tomatos from seeds?

I'm in Arizona. Last year I was still picking tomatoes in mid December. What do you think?

I can't give you a yes/no answer because I've never tried starting tomatoes this late, but you should try an early or extra early variety. I'm curious to see how it works out!

I already have some heirloom tomato seeds that I want to plant. I sowed some today and hope for the best.

Post this question on the very active Arizona forum. They will have the answer for you. I do know that some people plant tomato plants in Arizona in February, since I go there at that time, so I bet you'd be OK starting them now.

I'm in Texas and started some tomato seeds a week ago. I figure if they don't make I haven't lost much except a few seeds.
