My family and I left for D.C. over 4th of July weekend. I spent every day during the the week prior to leaving tidying up, weeding, harvesting and treating what I could in the garden. 3 days later we returned to massive zucchini, squash and watermelon plants growing into walkways, beds and walkways of weeds, 2 dead pumpkin vines that were ravaged by cucumber beetles, 4 bushes of ripe blueberries, ready to eat golden raspberries, bolted lettuce, 24 snow pea vines laden with ready to pick yesterday pods, and a return of aphids on my fruit trees, borage and spinach again. Amazing what a warm, wet weekend will do to the garden.
