I have few cabbage plants. Bought the seedlngs around early May. They are big and forming head. When I look at yours in the picture I can say that it need fertilizer, mostly nitrogen. Another thing about cabbages is that they need MORE water. Also, cabbage being a cool crop will not like very hot day and night. Partial shade is preferred over full sun. I don't know your growing conditions,(temps, sun, shade, watering..) but it looks like your cabbage is getting ready to bolt, as there is no head at all.

The photo is the cauliflower, I assume. It might still head, I'd give it another few weeks.

May is pretty late to be setting out brassicas. I think you need to shift your schedule back a month - seeds in February, set out in April.

looks like it is still heading up, do they get near full sun? colour not quiet right, nutrients of the natural kind maybe short on?

You can use the leaves the same way you would Collards - very tasty! No waste :)

Leave the cauliflower. I've had then stay vegetative all summer, get enormous, and then form monster heads in the fall as days shorten and nights cool off.

Thanks everyone! Though about using them as collards but didn't know if that was done. I'll leave the cauliflower and see how they turn out
