On the beans too.

Looks like Bean Leaf Beetle to me....would be a foliar feeding pest, have seen them in my garden for the first time this year as well. only on variety of legumes though.

No, I must say they have very different colors than the bean leaf beetle. They where on cukes also.

I have them all over too. Oriental beetle, supposedly the adults on't do any damage but the grubs eta grass roots. I think the adults are what is chewing holes in my pepper leaves though. Found them last year on edamame, this year on cukes, squash, arugula, and peppers.

I've just been picking them off and dropping in a tub of water.

The photos aren't clear enough to make a guess.

Agree it is a really poor photo. Focus was on the plant rather than the bug. For future reference pics work 10x better if you remove the bug from the plant and place it on a sheet of paper for the picture. Laying a coin or something next to it too gives it a scale for size.

But it does have the classic upturned white striping on the carapace of the Oriental Beetles. So that is the best guess. As mentioned they are essentially garden neutrals. In the grub form they are turf/lawn pests.

It is not a bean beetle.

They look like June beetles and are related to Japanese beetles and will eat your foliage.
