Never heard of this variety. Do you grow them from seed?

I am growing County Fair for the first time this year and to date they are producing well. They are growing alongside my two long time, bombproof favorites, Alibi and Eureka. Growing them under row covers until blossom time, there are no problems with disease. I also trellis them. This year they are partuiculary vigorous and have invaded my pole beans. It's a jungle out there!

uscjusto, Yes, I grow them from seed. I used to always buy them from Park Seed, but they quit selling them. So this year I bought them from ? Jung? I think. They seemed to be more popular/available about 8-10 years ago. Now you really have to look around to find them. I think they are having trouble keeping it true to the original one.

sconticut.......Do those 2 favorites of yours ever get cuc beetles? I would love to grow other varieties, but they all die from the wilt.

Most of the cuke beetles are gone by the time I take off the row cover material. Also discourages feeding by bunnies which breed like rabbits around here.

County Fair - first time this year. I liked them very much but I did get Target Leaf Spot on all my plants because of the incessant rain.

I have since pulled all my plants (County Fair, Ashley, Muncher) but did manage to get quite a few pickles put up and a few batches of Tzadziki and fresh salads made.
