What to plant in August?

Im in zone 5. I'm a newbie and having fun with my SFG. My lettuce is done and I'm wondering about what to plant in August in place of it? Any suggestions?

Lettuce, kale, peas, carrots... Lots to plant at the end of summer. Some veggies actually appreciate a good frost before harvest.

Escarole, radishes (including daikon), collards.

I'm in zone 6 and going to start broccoli and brussels sprouts in pots in august and hopefully have them in the ground by the end of august/beginning of september.
