I know that I am already getting antsy for the cool, days of Fall to get here in hot, humid deep southern Illinois.

BUT, in addition to the cooler weather, I am also looking forward to Fall so I can plant a cover crop on my garden.

This year I am going to plant half of my garden in Alfalfa and the other half in clover.

Can BOTH of these be planted as late as late October or even into early November? Even then down here the soil is fairly warm.

Any other thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.
