Pruning back Sugar Snap Peas

So, my snap peas have very much outgrown their trellis.. and, on top of that, are flowering at the tips of their new growth.
I don't know if snap peas grow flowers on new or old growth, so I'm wondering if I should go ahead and prune the plants back so that they're not so much of a mess and not over 1' the trellis, or if I should just leave them be. Any suggestions?

Leave them be. This time of year, peas aren't wanting to start new flowers. You'd just be cutting off your future peas.

I find they fall over the trellis, and then start growing skyward again. They end up making a zig zag. So they can be 3 or more feet taller than the trellis and still not hit the ground.
