I bought a pack of organic lemon cucumber seeds last year, but didnt grow them, so I planted them this year. I started in sprout bags under wet paper towels, then moved the sprouts to pots, then planted them in the ground after they had grown their first full sized round leaves. They were slow to start at first, because it was still cool, but they took off about 3-4 weeks ago, and now they are 4-5 feet long, with lots of blooms and a few little cukes just setting on the vines. I was wondering how productive these plants are typically? How good do they taste, and are they any different from regular cukes? Do they have the same consistency, sweetness, etc? Shelf life? Thanks.....

I grew them once years ago and they had good flavor but they were too seedy for my liking. Production seemed about normal for a cucumber. Rodney

They produced well and there was nothing wrong with them flavorwise but nothing spectacular either. I prefer the traditional long green kind--easier to peel.
