I know most recommend growing asparagus from rootstock rather than seeds and, regardless of starting from crowns or seeds, I realize this is typically done in the Spring but I already have seeds I didn't get around to planting and (unless there's a possibility that they won't get large enough to successfully overwinter) -- since it's just to be left to grow the first few years anyway -- I'm wondering if there's any reason why I can't still start these now, in July.
