| I know most recommend growing asparagus from rootstock rather than seeds and, regardless of starting from crowns or seeds, I realize this is typically done in the Spring but I already have seeds I didn't get around to planting and (unless there's a possibility that they won't get large enough to successfully overwinter) -- since it's just to be left to grow the first few years anyway -- I'm wondering if there's any reason why I can't still start these now, in July. |

| In my experience, asparagus seeds left to their own devices will germinate in July. Yes, you will not progress as fast, but the plants will be just as healthy. Treat as you would any seedling (water frequently). |
