My cauliflower leaves are turning red and yellow over the past few days. What is the cause of this? https://www.dropbox.com/s/r4baciqruh20dfm/Photo Jul 06 9 03 20 AM.jpg

The plants aren't happy, but the possible causes are several.

Here is a photo. I was on my iPad so I couldn't upload.

link not working. Drought stress? Root problem? |

Is the image not showing up in the thread? I uploaded an image so it should be there. I'm in the midwest with plenty of rain so I don't believe it's drought. Certainly could be a root problem but I don't know what.

Cauliflower is subject to a number of soil borne problems. One thing it cannot tolerate is heat. Depending on whether you are central or up the Canadian border, heat stress could be your problem.

I'm in Chicago. We've had a warm but not a ridiculously hot summer. How can I look for soil problems?

Most obvious is to examine roots. Cabbage root maggots will be tiny white worm like larvae that eat tunnels through the under ground stem. Club root will be extensive galling of the root. Nematodes Phytophthora root rot All of these cause extensive damage to the root system.

Tug on the plant. If it seems loose in the soil, pull it out and look at the roots.

Cauliflower is a cool season crop. When did you plant? I'm north west of Chicago, and it's too warm now. Even if the plant survives I don't think it will produce a head of cauliflower
