After applying your vermicompost to your raised bed, always let any possible seeds germinate so you can hula hoe them BEFORE you plant your fall veggie seeds.

It looks like I'll be pulling thousands of tiny tomato seedlings so there will be room for the kale, spinach, rutabagas, etc. This is not how I wanted to spend my day!

Yup, after 2 years in a row of battling tomato volunteers, last year I did not put any tomato seeds in the compost. It's too much of a pain in the !#% to constantly pull them out. Ditto for any kind of squash seeds.
