| This is my first year growing courgettes and my 2 plants (orelia f1) are growing well. Both plants have a female flower open today. Great. But the male flowers aren't any where close to opening! I keep reading of people with the opposite problem - only male flowers and no females. So what's up with mine?
Will the problem correct itself? Or should I steal a male flower from somewhere else? |

| It will correct itself, but if you can find a male flower of the same species (C. pepo), you could speed things up a bit. High performing hybrids often lead with females. Sometimes it pays to have a couple of older OP plants as pollenizers. Maybe something like Golden Zucchini in your case, since Orelia is a yellow zuke. |

| Thanks very much. I might go steal a male flower from my office garden plot, but otherwise, will just wait for the problem to correct itself. Just kinda bummed that the 2 lovely zukes that are not being pollinated will just waste away :( |
