Shishito Plants

xeno

I picked up a couple Shishito plants from a Japanese nursery near me, and when I transplanted them into my raised garden bed I noticed that there were a couple blossoms, and the biggest one (the plant is no more than 10" tall) had a couple small peppers developing on it. I was advised to prune off blossoms before transplanting it, but I ended up just transplanting without pruning. Will pruning the blossoms/fruit now lead to a stronger plant and better yield in the future?
