Does this look like squash vine borer to you

Hi I was inspecting my squash today ..and noticed some eggs on my leaves and then i seen this on the stem .. I already started scraping the eggs off.... My plants dont look ill ..is this the borer or is it just a natural split ... What do you recommend if it is a borer? pull the plant?
