I have a few potatoes that missed getting covered well when hilling up the area and they have green skin on the exposed surface. If they are covered now and left for a few weeks will the green go away? Or is it too late to correct this?

On a related note: if you have green potatoes after harvest can you put them in a dark place in the house and get rid of the green?

If not, I'll just peel off a generous amount around the green areas...and be more vigilant in the future.
