What can I plant now?

Hi all!

New to posting but have found tons of info here while lurking. I have a question. I live in NEPA in the Poconos and I just harvested my onions this afternoon. Now I have a bare spot in the garden and I want to plant something there, but I do not know what I can with only a few months till fall. Anyone have any suggestions?

Not new to gardening, going on 6 years, but I've usually kept it simple till this year. My past gardens consisted of tomatoes, peppers, chives, onions and I just started planting cucumbers, green beans and asparagus and vine peach this year. Picked our first crop of beans a few weeks ago and they were excellent! Everything else is looking nice and the asparagus I'll have to wait a few years to harvest that.

You could try the following:

From seed:
Swiss chard
peas (snow, snap or garden)
kale
radish
lettuce
pak choy
zucchini
kohlrabi
collards
carrots
mustard greens
spinach
turnips
cucumber (iffy)
bush beans (iffy)

From plants:
broccoli
cauliflower
cabbage
buttons_colorado

Right now I'm only plating radishes and lettuce since I'm in zone 4 and fall is coming up quick. You may have better luck than me with the plants listed by booberry.
