What is eating cabbage & brussel sprout leaves

Something is eating my cabbage & brussel sprout leaves. I've checked first thing early morning and evening and do not see anything. I thought slugs but can't find any. None on plants. Leaves have alot of holes and pieces of leaves are missing. I doubt if animal because some leaves are a little high off the ground. Thanks for your help.

Without a picture, my guess would be cabbage worms or loopers. They are green caterpillars that are surprisingly difficult to find on the plants. Spraying with Bt will kill them.
