Dang heat wave!

We're hitting 95-100* this week. It usually doesn't happen until Aug-Sept. I've been picking beans, crook necked squash and zuks like crazy. I've got a few early girl and purple Cherokee maters, but most are green. Most of the other tomatoes are still in flower. Eggplant are flowering and peppers are in flower and some have babies starting. Same with melons.
I'm thinking my tomatillias and corn, with enough water are going to like the heat.
I think I'm going to cut down most of the kale tomorrow, before it bolts and do something with it (try some chips, freeze for future soups/stews)
I know some veges don't do well over a certain heat. Will the ones in flower not fruit, or is it that they won't form flowers in this kind of heat?
As I said, I'm not used to this much heat this early in the summer! I'm used to it later on when everything is growing most vigorously! (wow! That's a word?????) Nancy

I live in the Bay Area and I agree "Dang heat wave", It's bad when it comes in the middle of the growing season, and it's twice as bad since we have a drought.

Please send it up here! Today's high was barely 60 degrees and it poured rain all day.

OMG Nancy, it was 107 in my garden this afternoon! I was baking. The garden survived it fine though. Everything I'm growing right now is pretty heat loving.

It's supposed to be cooler tomorrow. I hope so!

Slimey (love the name BTW!) send some rain our way! Severe drought!
Lori- I think we got to 98*ish Fri. Today was cooler, but still 90ish!
So, will my beans and tomatoes suffer? It's supposed to stay warm for a couple more days. Nancy
