Mystery red beans?

I thought I bought Asian Noodle Red Beans, but these aren't climbing the trellis. They are already a pencil-width thick, but they're only about 6" long. I want to make sure I don't wait too long to pick them. I'm sorry for the blurry pic--I can try that again tomorrow when it's not dark outside. I'm new to gardening, so I'm sorry if this is a basic question.

RE: Mystery red beans?

The beans and leaves look like a purple variety of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris). They should be good enough to pick.. I've already picked and eaten all of my Kentucky Wonder Beans and have some seed saved for next year.

The leaves of long beans aren't as wide and have less texture... The long bean pods don't have that sharp point at the bottom and they look more like worms to me.

Based on the one pic, they look like common Bush "green beans" like "Royal Burgundy". They look fine to pic now, I agree that they don't look like they are going to get longer.

Maybe a seed mixup.

Agree. They are a purple bush type. And yes, those are ready to pick. When the seeds inside start swelling like that they are past ready.
