JB and sting bugs this year

The numbers of Japenese Beatles and sting bugs have dropped dramatically in my garden this year. There is minimal grape vine leaf damage from JB. The vegs show no noticeable damage so far. Even my canna lily bloom is clean.

I had horrible sting bug infestion in the last two years and JB had always been a problem before this year.

Is it possible all the rain this summer has drowned the bugs before they emerge? I'm holding my breath and hope they will never come back again.

Have you noticed any increase/decrease in JB and sting bugs numbers in your garden this year?

More stink bugs and MANY more Japanese Beetles in my plot in Suburban MD. Neither are a serious problem yet, just annoying.

Added rain has done nothing here.. we were always wet anyways.. in fact my JB season seemed to expand this year, First JB was around 6/20 usually around 7/4. They are devouring everthing as per normal. I have stink bugs to, but they pale in comparison to the JB invasion, millions of them.

I don't know if it is the rain. My local Coop. Ex. guy mentioned that the conditions over last winter were very favorable for their development, maybe your winter wasn't as good? We do have a ton of beetles of all sorts this year. On the other hand I have not seen too many stink bugs as yet.

In suburban Baltimore area of MD, I saw quite a few stink bugs in early spring, but have not seen many or really any since.
I measure by how many JBs gather on my back screen door at night. Only two last night but then it may be early for them.
