| I found a recipe the other day that called for savoy cabbage.. I went to the store and could not find it, What is savoy cabbage and how is it different from regular cabbage?Thanks for any information you can give me. Where do I get the seeds or plants? Barb |

| It's a round-headed cabbage with netted leaves. Seeds should be available from most large vendors. |

| Savoy cabbage is extremely winter hardy. I start my winter ones in mid june, just transplanted them to larger pots and will set them in the garden under summer weight row covers in another month or so. Last winter, they went through the polar vortex--minus 6 here--with no damage whatsoever. They are my major winter veggie. |

| To me a real Savoy has very deeply puckered leaves as at the link, deeper than farmerdill's picture. It's a winter vegetable and any you might find now will probably be tasteless. they need frost for flavour. |
