Sponge gourd- only male flowers for over 5 weeks. Suggestions Ple

In Dallas Tx, temperatures have been hot 90-100 high and 70s low for the last several weeks, even several over 100 days. I have couple of vines of sponge gourd. Plants have grown well and are healthy except for the moderate aphid infestation. The plnats have been flowering now for almost 5 weeks. Only male flowers. I have not seen even a single female flower. I know these plants are supposed to bear both types on one plnat and female floweers follow the male flowers. But isn't 5 weeks kind of too long?

Is there anything I can do? Thanks.

I read that it has something to do with the day length. The fruit usually shows up well into fall.

If you're talking about luffas, mine have done fine and have tons of fruit but I have grown a variety that just didn't put on any. Where did you get the seeds?

I had the same problem with long beans so don't beat yourself up if you fail with some of the veggies that might be prone to a day length problem. Just try another variety.
