After reading Pat Lanza's Lasagna Gardening, it came to me that I already have the two well composed wood chip piles. The utility crew dumped the wood chips about 3 years ago.

A lot of the weeds were growing and I had to pull them out. But if the weeds grow well on top of the piles, then vegetables should grow well too, particularly the root vegetables. I think I should try some carrot this late summer and plant regular crop next spring.

Anyone has similar experience?
