I think I read a couple posts saying they that watermelons root along some nodes on the vine...
Just wanted confirmation since would be cool to have other rooted nodes in case the main plant dies because of insects/disease.

also if they do re-root along the vine, have another question...
I have black plastic to keep down my weeds at my melon patch... How would you promote rooting in that situation? just cover every 6 feet of vine with a small mound of good aerated dirt/compost/perlite mix on top the plastic maybe?
