Bean leaves show slimy substance

Ashish Kalani

I have bean plants potted in two separate pots. I set is doing excellent, with big green leaves and big beans. The other set is stunted, showing signs of leaf and bean damage, with tiny spots on the leaves and a slimy gel-like substance on them.

The other day, I saw a snail on one of the leaves, which I promptly removed. The slimy substance seems to have persisted, though I don't see any more snail infestation. The plants also continue to be stunted with very little growth. I don't know if it is due to some kind of disease, and so need some pointers from the pros here.

Please help.
