It's a pink spotted lady beetle aka Coleomegilla maculata - a good insect to have in your garden.

this looks like a variety of cucumber beetle. Not good at all.

Ceth, look again. I think that if you compare the Pink Spotted ladybug with a spotted cucumber beetle, you'll see that there's very little similarity.

I'm pretty sure Donna is correct. It's not a species of lady beetle I'm familiar with, but the head and body don't look like cuke beetle, and it's matching the pink spotted lady beetle pictures I found while googling.
