I discovered some aphids and a lot of ants on my okra plants, then today I saw this little bug. It's not a ladybug, is it? It's not round like a ladybug, it's a look-a-like, but longer, and hot pink instead of red. What bug is this? Should I kill it or leave it alone next time I see it?

It's a pink spotted lady beetle aka Coleomegilla maculata - a good insect to have in your garden.

Ceth, look again. I think that if you compare the Pink Spotted ladybug with a spotted cucumber beetle, you'll see that there's very little similarity.

I'm pretty sure Donna is correct. It's not a species of lady beetle I'm familiar with, but the head and body don't look like cuke beetle, and it's matching the pink spotted lady beetle pictures I found while googling.
