It looks like lowe's and HD got rid of their vegetable seed selection already. The garden emoter said they would have a new batch in a couple weeks.

20% off is not such a big deal at this time of the year. But if you need them, it is better than paying full price. Most seeds remain viable for years. An exception might be onions family. Even then I have germinated 3 year old leeks seeds.

Not a great deal - our local "lot" store routinely sells them for 40% off list, and they've reduced further. I did just buy some more zuke (48 DTM) seed a couple of weeks ago since my 1st crop is looking ragged and the 2nd crop (from 2007 seed my dad had) never germinated. They're just coming up now, not too too much chance of a harvest. Also picked up a pack of "Snowbird" snow peas to try for fall crop - maybe - or early spring.

But I'm not keen on Burpee tomato seed, too many mislabeled seeds.

I do like their Bush Champion cukes, Picklebush has done OK, haven't tried spinach or broccoli (too late for broccoli now, should have started it inside 6 weeks ago). Save it for next year, you can plant spinach now. What kind of cukes did you get?

I'm in zone 9 and it says I can plant broccoli through August.

I bought burpless hybrid II cukes.

Sorry, I meant it was too late for me in zone 5, I should have started the broccoli in July. By the time I finished that sentence, I had forgotten where you were. I'm very distracted these days. I'm saving broccoli seed I bought this year for next, don't think I'll plant spinach this fall (may do lettuce) if I ever catch up with everything else around here (still haven't renovated the strawberries or pruned the raspberries).

I've never tried the burpless cukes.
