Hi All, I was spreading mulch in my yard yesterday and at one point I had flip flops on. (I know, sounds crazy but they are super comfortable and sturdy) Anyway, I noticed my toes and bottoms of feet were starting to turn black, due to the stains/dyes in the mulch. So it made me freak when I remembered I had just thrown down this same mulch on my new little herb / veggie garden. Any advice or suggestions? I don't imagine ingesting this dye would be a good thing. I can take remove it (not a huge area) but my question is, what do you use as organic mulch in your veggie gardens?

It's a biodegradeable dye. Don't panic. I use shredded tree branches and under-done compost on my veggie beds.

Yeah much better mulches to use for vegetable gardens - literally 100's of discussions here about mulch the search will pull up for you to read. But it isn't going to kill you. Dave
