Haiku poems generally contain about a dozen words. So even if your A.D.D. you should be able to compose one. Here's a fun gardening haiku contest to help close out the summer. Five winners get a free packet of vegetable seed for the best humorous haiku.

Gardening can be a drag,
if nothing grows right,
Dreams of filling food in bags,
veggies in plain sight,
Marking plants in spring with tags,
Give water and light,
Should grow veggies without lag,
Growing without blight,
Who knows why they won't grow big,
Grows more each year right.

Recall the rabbit
That attacked the pres'dent?
Ditto my lettuce

Nothing cute about those
Furry destroyers of crops
Wascally Wabbits!

A large container ?

Container grown vine too weak
'Cept with gigantic stakes

Well son-of-a-gun
Who could know that Jack's Giant
Reads our Garden Web

The garden's shriveled —
Much too hot for much too long.
Can't wait until fall.

PAMark- I liked your haiku a lot! Ortho brings you rest, indeed! How about these?

An oversized duck,
I dabble amoung my rows,
tending. Bottoms up!

Good neighbor, don't ask
Why do I steal your fall leaves?
Compost heap needs browns.

Green gifts on my porch?
Who could grant so much bounty?
Zuchini fairy.

Seeds planted
Birds, critters, bugs and elements conspire
The war begins
