 o
Volunteer onion?

I have a little garden which I recently converted from brush. Last year I had planted an onion which had sprouted in my kitchen cabinet, and it grew pretty tall and went to flower. Looks like I have a baby onion here? If so, what the heck do I do with it? Can I harvest it this year or do I have to wait until next year?

RE: Volunteer onion?

You can do either. Without knowing which variety and type it is, long-day or short-day, there is no real way to know what it will do.

If it isn't bothering anything, leave it alone.
