Gherkin cucumber plant help

My cucumber plant has been growing fast. I have some leafminers but I have read those won't harm the plant as far as growth. Correct me if I'm wrong.

My problem is that the tendrils are dying and the smaller cukes and leaves at the bottom of the plant are starting to die too. See pic.

There are some cukes at the top of the 5' plant that are almost ready to harvest. I water daily and the soil drains well.

Any ideas?

I'm trying to figure out how to post multiple pictures... If anyone can advise, please do.

I may actually have some cucumber beetles. I found some very small black/yellow fly/beetle looking insects. Not sure if they are beetles or not.
