Watermelons Per Plant

Nick Rose

Before I get to my question, Yes, Yes, before anyone says it, I know I have to many watermelon plants for this area. There is 5-6 plants in this hill but next year I will be only doing 3 or 4 and a different type of hill. The type of watermelon is the crimson sweet.

Ok, now for my question. How many watermelons should I have growing on one plant? I have hand pollinated 6 female flowers to help the bees out and one of the very first ones has started to grow. On that same plant there is a second one that has been pollinated. Do I keep both watermelons or do I take the second one off or do I take the first one off?
