Hi, growing some Japanese eggplant. They started out as small plants from Lowe's, about 5-6 inches tall. They have thrived in the very HOT Southern California weather with plenty of watering.

They sprout small purple eggplant about pinky-sized, and as they got bigger they turned the color of the picture. I believe this is overripe?? The little tag says they should be mature around 10in! But these little guys are like 5in maybe. Hand added for scale.

Any thoughts? There are many other little purple ones sprouting. The plants are now easily 10" tall and getting wider and more full. Thanks!
