| No, but there's a cucumber with that name (and two other names): http://www.seedsavers.org/Details.aspx?itemNo=213 |

| There is a subspecies of C.melo var.chito Common names: Vine Peach, Orange Melon, Mango Melon, Lemon Melon, Apple Melon. Not much for taste, used to used for preserves. |
Here is a link that might be useful: Lemon Melon
|
| And, to be honest, it's not even very good for that. The concept is OK, its just a bland flavored flesh, and it makes a decent preserved product, which in any recipe you are going to come across takes its flavor from other ingredients such as citrus juice and peel or spices. But these guys are so small, by the time you remove peel and seeds, there isn't much left. You can do the same thing with other produce -- I'd recommend either citron melon or winter melon, and I'd personally go for the winter melon, since removing the seeds from citron is also a pain in the you know where. |

| I bought a lemon drop melon from the produce market this summer. Little cantaloupe looking melon, citrusy taste. I liked it, my husband hated it. |
|
| tracydr~ That sounds more like it....he said it was like a small cantaloupe. |
