| Can you folks please help me? Something is attacking my Brussels sprout leaves. Does anyone know what this is and what I can do at this point? Does it affect the sprouts ready to harvest? |

| Not at all clear But my best guess is cabbage aphids. Blast them off with a harsh water spray. Repeat as needed every every several days. |
| That's one of the worst cabbage aphid infestations I've ever seen. I would pinch off the really bad leaves and start spraying with insecticidal soap. It may take 2 or more soap sprays to get things under control. |
| Yes, they're aphids. Common this time of year on cabbage family crops. I've got them on my brussels sprouts and collards too. |
| Yeah, that's very common. If the aphids are on the sprouts themselves, you'll have to wash them before eating. I find that soaking the sprouts for an hour or so helps. As the weather gets colder the aphids will die off but unfortunately they leave behind quite a mess. -Mark Ps. Hey tcstoehr, i'm next door to you in Oregon City. Small world! |
