American Dagger Moth Caterpillars

Hi guys,

This has been my first season gardening. It has brought lots of yummy vegetables, and several unwelcome critters (like horn worms and a yellow jacket nest, among other things).

Yesterday afternoon, I found dozens of fuzzy yellow caterpillars gnawing away at my green bean leaves. They are very small - smaller than my fingernail - and have lots of tiny black spines. I did a google image search, and I believe these are American Dagger Moth caterpillars, which would make sense, as I have seen several gray moths flittering around lately.

Does anyone know if there is any way to get rid of them, other than picking them off and destroying them one by one? I can do that with hornworms, but there are just so many of these little boogers!! :-)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Ashley
