I had a first attempt at growing crimson sweet watermelon this summer, and I was impressed with the crop. Most delicious watermelon I've had!
After harvesting in early August, I left the vines alone for almost a week. To my surprise, I came back to several new watermelons. I decided to keep watering them and see how it goes. Luckily for the melons, we've had a heat wave of upper 80's to upper 90's intermittently since then.
However, now we're going back to normal temperature-wise, which means our days are in the upper 70's and the nights are cool--mainly 50's. We even dipped into the 40's the other night.

When should I harvest these? DO I wait the normal number of days to harvest, or should I pull them before it gets too cold? They are not as large as the previous crop, but I expected that. Most are bowling-ball sized or slightly less.
