Fallen Broccoli

I planted some broccoli in a pot for the first time this year. I started indoors from seed and transplanted to a pot after the first real leaves grew. It has been growing well, but today I went outside and the plant was laying on it's side. It looks healthy otherwise. We've had a little wind but nothing crazy. Is there something I can do? I'm guessing it won't continue to grow like that...

I would stake it with a bamboo stake and a soft cloth tie.

That pot looks pretty small. I'd probably move it to a bigger pot, and plant the broccoli deeper so it won't flop around so much. But if not, I've had them grow sideways too.

The pot is 12 in across, and about 10 in deep. Is that too small?

I've never tried it in a container, but when I plant in my garden they have to be spaced 18" apart...at least. The plants can get huge! Plus they're fairly heavy feeders, so it might be hard in a smaller pot, I'm guessing.

I think the pot is big enough for 1 plant. What kind of soil are you using?
Maybe it's just tired. :)

Catherine I used a Miracle Gro Potting Mix.
